You’ve gone to the work of putting your words on paper, so what’s next?
Whether you’re an experienced writer or a newbie, hiring an editor can help you bring your writing to the next level.
As a life-long reader, a graduate of uOttawa’s English program and New York University’s Summer Publishing Institute, and a student of Ryerson’s Publishing Certificate Program, I am prepared to edit your fiction, non-fiction, and academic works. As your editor, my goal is to ensure your work is polished and engaging.
Substantive & Structural Editing
Big picture editing meant to assess writing and provide suggestions to help improve organization and content.
Line-by-line editing meant to clarify meaning, improve flow and tone, and smooth language.
Line-by-line editing focussed on spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other aspects of style. Includes checking for consistency in writing and internal facts.
My clients primarily include authors preparing their writing for submission or self-publishing and Masters and Ph.D. students in social sciences and humanities. However, I am more than willing to work with businesses and other service providers.
Note for Masters and Ph.D. Students: I would love to edit your theses and dissertations, but please be advised that editing services related to such academic works are limited by the ethical guidelines of your institution.
