A big congratulations to everyone who won NaNoWriMo this year! And for the record, that’s anyone who has more words today than they did on November 1st.
In honour of the end of NaNoWriMo and the holiday season, I’m opening a few slots for free manuscript critiques!
Availability is limited, so book your spot soon: email firstname.lastname@example.org!
What is a manuscript critique?
A manuscript critique is a detailed report on your story, usually done as part of the substantive editing phase. In this report, I’ll evaluate your manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses and provide notes on content and structure (pacing, plot, characters, world-building etc.). I’ll identify problem areas, offer potential solutions for issues, and give suggestions for continuing the editorial process.
Are you ready for a manuscript critique?
You’ll get the most out of a manuscript critique if your story is finished and you’ve already done thorough self-editing. If you’ve just finished a novel for NaNoWriMo, you’ll want to edit it a fair amount before you send it to me.
Working with me
I edit a variety of genres and I’m particularly interested in YA, middle-grade, SFF, and general fiction. My turn around time for a manuscript critique is usually two to three weeks for a novel between 50,000 and 80,000 words.
- You may book your manuscript critique for any time between January 1, 2019, and June 30, 2019. This offer will not be available outside of that period.
- I have limited spaces for this promotion. These spaces are available on a first come first serve basis.
This promotion is not available for manuscripts over 80,000 words.
- I work in Microsoft Word.
